Lentiviral-Mediated Knockdown of CGI-58 Expression in Cultures of Human Keratinocytes. Two lentiviruses targeting different regions of CGI-58 (miRNA-CGI-58 #1 and miRNA-CGI-58 #2) showed similar depletion/knockdown of CGI-58 mRNA expression. Expression of keratinization markers, involucrin, filaggrin, loricrin, and transglutaminase 1, was markedly reduced after infection with lentiviruses carrying miRNA-CGI-58 #1 and miRNA-CGI-58 #2 constructs.
