Residue numbers refer to the rabbit isoforms of CaV1.2 (top number) and CaV1.1 (bottom number). The EF-hand (4), A and C (12, 17), and IQ (15) motifs have been implicated as important for calcium-dependent inactivation and/or CaM binding. Bottom, alignment of CaV1.2 residues 1637–1673 and CaV1.1 residues 1512–1548 (numbering according to rabbit sequences).
