Evaluation by immunoblotting of anti-LcrV depletion. Samples of BDE (lanes 1 and 3) or LcrV (lanes 2 and 4) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to filters, and incubated with BDE serum before (Pre) or after (Post) depletion of anti-LcrV antibodies. After being processed for immunoblotting with secondary antibody, the films were overexposed to allow detection of anti-LcrV signal in predepleted sera (lane 2).
