Hemodynamics in the treatment model
| Systolic blood pressure | Heart rate | |||
| Group | Baseline | 4 hours | Baseline | 4 hours |
| Control | 125 ± 6 | 88 ± 6 | 425 ± 25 | 327 ± 9 |
| LPS alone | 98 ± 8 | 70 ± 5 | 465 ± 11 | 438 ± 28* |
| LPS + 0.025% of 1,600 kDa HMW HA | 125 ± 5 | 72 ± 8 | 442 ± 21 | 448 ± 9* |
| LPS + 0.5% of 1,600 kDa HMW HA | 112 ± 9 | 86 ± 6 | 475 ± 17 | 445 ± 10* |
| LPS + 0.1% of 1,600 kDa HMW HA | 97 ± 16 | 87 ± 6 | 495 ± 18 | 401 ± 23* |
| LPS + 0.1% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose | 97 ± 8 | 85 ± 7 | 464 ± 18 | 474 ± 30* † |
There were no statistical differences between groups for systolic blood pressure. In the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-exposed groups the heart rate was statistically higher, but there were no statistical differences between the high-molecular-weight hyaluronan (HMW HA) treatment groups. LPS + 0.1% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose was statistically higher than LPS + 0.1% HMW HA. *P < 0.01 versus control. †P < 0.01 versus LPS + 0.1% HMW HA.
