Subcellular fractionation of ODC activity. By the use of detergent and salt extractions, NHEK were fractionated (Lenk et al., 1977), and fractions with high salt were dialyzed. LDH (open circles) activity was measured solely in the Soluble and Wash fractions. ODC activity (vertical bars) was measured in the Soluble and Wash fractions and also in the insoluble (Doc/T–20 and Ins Pellet) fractions. Data represent the average of measurements from three independent plates in one experiment. Similar results were obtained in many independent experiments. Doc/T-20, DOC and Tween 20; Ins, insoluble.
