Serum and liver cholesterol profiles. A, B: metabolite levels were measured for each of the 8 replicate females per strain per time point. Metabolite levels at each treatment time point were compared with the extrapolated control values (0, 9, 22 days). These differences were normalized to the extrapolated control values and represented as percent change from the control. For the A/J serum total cholesterol level, we did not have data for day 21 of treatment and day 22 of control. Therefore, we plotted treatment days 14 and 15 data with extrapolated control from day 0 and day 9 control. The metabolite levels of each replicate animal are shown as red circles for A/J and blue triangles for C57BL/6J.
