Growth defects of human somatic cells with reduced and no DNA-PKcs expression. Wild-type (WT), DNA-PKcs+/−, and DNA-PKcs−/− HCT116 cells were seeded on tissue culture plates (4 × 103), and the increase in cell number was determined by counting trypan blue-excluding cells with a hemocytometer at daily intervals. The averages (±standard deviations) of two experiments, each done in duplicate, are shown.
