Physical arrangement of the major Geobacter chemotaxis-like gene clusters. Affiliations with che clusters of known function are indicated after the clusters, as E. coli-like, Dif-like and Frz-like (both from M. xanthus), and the α and β groups. These assignments were made by the relative agreements between che gene content, the physical arrangement in the cluster and the percent identities. The α and β group designations refer to che clusters that are unique to the Geobacteraceae and the δ-Proteobacteria, respectively.
