Inline graphic is the genotypic mean of the backcross progenies from F∞ parents with marker genotype g backcrossed to parental line j (j = 2, 1). Only Inline graphic means are presented, since the coefficients for Inline graphic are the same (for a given g) for Inline graphic, Inline graphic, and Inline graphic. Contrasts Inline graphic, Inline graphic, and Inline graphic have the same coefficients as Inline graphic, Inline graphic, and Inline graphic for Inline graphic, respectively; for Inline graphic, the coefficients are the same but with opposite signs.
