(A) Representative images showing orexin expression in the lateral hypothalamus by in situ hybridization. (B) There was a significant interaction between diet exposure and ΔFosB expression on orexin expression (P < 0.01). Post hoc testing revealed that control mice showed a significant increase in orexin expression following HF diet (P < 0.05) and, coupled with a non-significant decrease in expression in ΔFosB mice, this led to a significant difference in orexin expression between the control and ΔFosB mice on HF diet (P < 0.05). *Significantly different from control chow, +significantly different from control HF.
