Effects of hypoxia and srcFK inhibition on [Ca2+]i in intra-pulmonary arteries (IPAs). Example traces (upper panel) of the ratio of light emitted at >510 nm from excitation at 340 nm over that at 380 nm (R340/380) against time, and average effects with time (lower panel): 30 µM PP2 inhibited both the first phase (taken at 5 min; 58 ± 6% block, *P < 0.01 vs. control, n = 7 arteries) and the second phase (taken at 40 min; 43 ± 7% block, *P < 0.01 vs. control, n = 7 arteries). Note: the level of [Ca2+]i immediately before IPAs were made hypoxic was set to zero in order to distinguish the effect of PP2 on the underlying PGF-induced response from that of hypoxia per se.
