Mouse lungs were digested with dispase, and cells were stained with fluorescently labeled cell-type-specific antibodies. (A, B) F4/80+ cells (A) that were CD11blow (B) were classified as alveolar macrophages, while F4/80high CD11bhigh cells were classified as CD11bhigh macrophages. (C) F4/80low CD11chigh cells were classified as DCs and subdivided into CD11blow/mid DCs and CD11bhigh DCs. F4/80low CD11clow CD11bmid cells were classified as monocytes.
