3.7 Binding of NAO and HAO to wild type and cardiolipin-deficient yeast cells. Yeast cells (2 or 5 × 10⁷) prepared as described in Materials and Methods, were incubated with 45 µM NAO (panel A) or HAO (panel B) 15 min at 20 °C. Cells were washed three times in buffer to remove unbound dye and resuspended in 1.5 mL of buffer for determination of fluorescence (λ_exc, 450 nm; λ_em, 640 nm).
