Figure 2. RLIP76 loss sensitizes to chemotherapy toxicity in mice.

Figure 2

The experiment had a 2 × 4 factorial design (genotype × drugs) with 3 animals per group. C57 black mice, confirmed as having either RLIP76+/+ (circles) or RLIP76−/− (diamonds) genotyped as previously described [9], were weighed and randomized to treatment with a single i.p. injection of PBS containing either DOX (11.1 mg/Kg b.w.), p < 0.01, when compared RLIP76+/+ vs. RLIP76−/−; melphalan (6 mg/Kg b.w.), p < 0.05, when compared RLIP76+/+ vs. RLIP76−/−; busulfan (86 mg/Kg b.w.), p < 0.05, when compared RLIP76+/+ vs. RLIP76−/− or cyclophosphamide (159 mg/Kg b.w.) p < 0.07, when compared RLIP76+/+ vs. RLIP76−/−. Animals were monitored twice daily for survival.
