FIG. 5

Bicuculline effects on movement-related discharge recorded from 2 penetrations in monkey G. Left column: neuron recorded before injection, and 2 neurons recorded after 1 μl of bicuculline within 300 μm of the preinjection neuron. Postinjection neurons were well modulated by reach, and showed a pronounced bursting pattern in their spontaneous activity. Right column: 2 neurons are shown that were recorded at the same site after bicuculline and within 500 μm of the preinjection neuron. Although CN neurons were typically well modulated by the task, there were occasional exceptions, even for neurons recorded from the same electrode (P14U3 and P14U4).
