VSV escape from the endosome is delayed in PC3 cells relative to LNCaP cells. As diagrammed in panel a, cells were infected with VSV (LNCaP cells at an MOI of 10; PC3 cells at an MOI of 50) and at various times postinfection were treated with 100 μM chloroquine (to inhibit acidification of the endosome). Sixteen hours later cells were harvested and labeled for surface expression of G protein and analyzed by flow cytometry. Data are expressed as the percentage of cells expressing G at their surfaces for each condition (b).
