In vitro chitin-binding assay. BBF, before-binding fraction. Each protein was solubilized in the dissolving solution and assessed by Western blotting before the chitin-binding step. CBF, chitin-binding fraction. Each protein solubilized in the dissolving solution was mixed with chitin beads at room temperature for 18 h. Binding proteins on the chitin beads were detected by Western blot analysis. BSA was used as a negative control, and its detection was carried out using a monoclonal antibody to BSA.
