Effect of microvillus deformability on cell rolling at high P-selectin site densities. Average translational velocities (A), numbers of stressed bonds (B), L/H indexes (C), and average bond lifetimes (D) of modeled PMNs, decorated with either deformable or rigid microvilli, rolling over P-selectin-coated surfaces at prescribed shear rates were computed for a membrane stiffness value of 3 dyn/cm. The P-selectin site density was 150 molecules/μm2. Receptor-ligand binding kinetics was governed by the Dembo model. Data represent means ± SE except for bond lifetimes, which are expressed as means ± SD, from 3 independent simulations.
