G-CSF production by BMDMs (A) and peritoneal macrophages (B) following their phagocytosis of senescent neutrophils. Senescent neutrophils (N) were added to BMDMs or peritoneal macrophages (pMφ) in 1:1 and 5:1 ratios, in the presence or absence of 100 ng/ml LPS. Supernatants were harvested after 48 h and G-CSF production was determined by ELISA.
