Photograph of a typical nucleus obtained after extracapsular extraction from a blind patient in India. The diameter was 7.5 mm indicating that nearly the entire nucleus was recovered from this probable age-related nuclear cataract (73 years old). The supporting gauze is not visible through any part of the nucleus.
