Abnormal karyotypes were scored for the presence and number of acentric fragments. Time indicates time after heat-shock induction of P{70FLP}3F, except genotypes that included mei-41, which used P{70FLP}4A. The number of brains and number of metaphase nuclei scored are given. 4N indicates the number of tetraploid nuclei. HS, heat shock. Genotypes are as indicated in Table 1.
