kar9-L304P displays a severe growth defect in combination with mutations in the dynein pathway. Examples of dissection plates are shown of crosses between kar9-L304P-3GFP and strains deleted for components of the dynein pathway, the dynein heavy chain DHC1, the dynamitin component of the dynactin complex JNM1, and the kinesin KIP2. kar9-L304P crossed to a strain deleted for BIM1, which functions in the KAR9 pathway, is shown for comparison.
