Black bars are the mean result for common eiders (SOMO, Somateria mollissima) in this study: eiders spent 0.66% (or 0.16 h d−1) of their time flying per 24 h and, to be consistent with other daylight studies, eiders spent 0.96% of their time flying per active period.
