The leftmost stimulus represents the prototype of category A, stimuli to the right of the prototype represent examples of stimuli with increasing distances from the A prototype. The rightmost stimulus is the category B prototype. Stimuli with distance 0–4 from prototype A were considered category A members, stimuli with distance 6–10 were considered category B (non-A) members.
