The 1H NMR spectrum of the PEG-PF4ZIP recorded in D2O. The PEG peak at 3.50 ppm was integrated against the δCH3 from Leu and Val residues observed in the region between 0.2 to 1.0 ppm in spectra of the PF4ZIP. Integration of PF4ZIP resonances in this region, and comparison with the PEG backbone resonance revealed an average functionalization of the star PEG with PF4ZIP dimer in PEG-PF4ZIP to be 59%, indicating that an average of 2.4 out of four-arms have been functionalized with PF4ZIP dimer.
