CD8+ T cell responses after VSV infection. Groups of five BALB/c mice were infected intravenously with 107 PFU of either VSV/GFP or VSV/FAST. (A) Five days postinfection peripheral blood was collected, and VSV-responsive CD8+ T cells were enumerated by intracellular staining for IFN-γ production in response to the MPY peptide derived from the nucleocapsid of VSV Indiana. (B) At 7 days postinfection peripheral blood and splenocytes were collected, and VSV-responsive CD8+ T cells were again enumerated. The percentages of CD3+ CD8+ T cells that were IFN-γ+ after peptide stimulation ex vivo are displayed. The data shown represent the mean ± the SEM. No significant differences were detected.
