The brain develops almost normally, resulting in its increased relative ratio to the remaining body weight of VGV mice. B, C, Serum total cholesterol (B) and triglyceride (C) levels were also examined for wild-type (n = 11) and VGV mice (3 weeks, n = 11; 6 weeks, n = 13). Significant differences were detected for cholesterol levels between wild-type and VGV mice at 3 and 6 weeks and for triglyceride levels at 3 weeks (*p < 0.05, **p < 0.01; ***p < 0.001).
