PLC blockade prevents LTS cell SSI. A, Current-clamp recording of an LTS interneuron in the constant presence of the PLC blocker U-73122 (5 μm) in the extracellular solution. 10 SSI-inducing trains at 50 Hz every 20 s (gray bar) did not affect membrane potential. B, Current-clamp recording obtained from another LTS cell in the continuous presence of U-73343 (5 μm), an inactive isomer of U-73122. The same SSI-inducing protocol resulted in prolonged hyperpolarization.
