Cellular responses to immunization with 9mers from the sequence E₅₇ to E₇₁ of the YF envelope protein. BALB/c mice were immunized s.c. once with 50 μg/mL of individual 9mers, a pool of 9mers, or a 15mer, emulsified v/v in adjuvant (TiterMax®). The splenocytes were used in IFN-γ ELISPOT assays 15–30 days after the immunization. The cells were stimulated in vitro with individual peptides in decreasing concentrations. The box on the x-axis indicates the peptide(s) used in the immunization: Mice were immunized with (A) peptide E_57–65; (B) peptide E_58–66; (C) peptide E_59–67; (D) peptide E_60–68; (E) peptide E_61–69; (F) peptide E_62–70; (G) peptide E_63–71; (H) a pool of 9mers; (I) 15mer peptide E_57–71.
