Disulfide crosslinking of N6/C6 permease fragments containing paired Cys residues in helices XI and II. Membranes were prepared from E. coli T184 expressing N6 and C6 with paired Cys residue at position 361 in helix XI and 52 (A) or 53 (B) in helix II, and crosslinking was carried out as described in Fig. 2.
