Values are ATP hydrolyzed per duplex separated (ATP utilization value). Longer duplexes were derived from that shown in Fig 1A by extending the 5́-end of the RNA/DNA strand with uridine nucleotides. All reactions were performed at 25°C with 50 mM Na-MOPS (pH 7.0), 50 μM ATP-Mg2+, 0.5 μM duplex, and 2 μM CYT-19.
