Gm PNC1 Is a Peroxisomal Integral Membrane Protein.

Purified peroxisomes prepared from etiolated soybean cotyledons were subjected to subfractionation studies performed by successive treatment with 50 mM NaCl, 500 mM NaCl, 0.1M Na₂CO₃, pH 11, and 2% SDS buffers. Proteins were suspended in each buffer and then centrifuged. The supernatants were subjected to SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting. Gm PNC1, ascorbate peroxidase (pAPX), and ICL were detected by immunoblotting using the antibodies indicated on the left. pAPX and ICL are markers for membrane and matrix proteins of peroxisomes, respectively.
