Substrate GSSG protection of GR against 2-AAPA. Yeast GR (0.7 units/ml) was incubated at 25 °C with 2-AAPA (0.1 mm) and NADPH (0.2 mm) in the presence and absence of GSSG (0.25 mm) for 15 min. An aliquot was withdrawn and tested for GR activity as described for the GR assay. The results are presented as the means ± S.E. of three independent experiments.
