Note. All bivariate associations were statistically significant at P < .001, except neglect and spanking at P < .01 and considered abortion and spanking at P < .01. The t test was used when comparing major depression and considered abortion to psychological aggression, physical aggression, and parental stress. The χ2 test was used for all other associations, except where noted. All variables had 1% or less missing data.
