The right part of this figure shows the results of an analysis with SPM2 (p < 0.05, whole-brain cluster-level corrected): despite identical stimuli, strong task-dependent lateralization of activity was found. In particular, letter decisions activated the left ventral stream of the visual system, whereas spatial decisions activated the right dorsal stream (ellipsoids).
