Overview of EPC mobilization and homing. Contribution of BM EPCs to wound healing involves two critical events. BM EPCs are released from their niche into the circulation (mobilization). The circulating EPCs are recruited (homing) to injured tissue and contribute to neovascularization and wound healing. Mobilization and homing are controlled by different mechanisms.
