Mutational robustness correlates with neutral network size. The horizontal axis shows the logarithm of neutral network sizes divided by 4L for the biological RNA sequences examined here. The vertical axis shows Rμ, the average mutational robustnes of sequences belonging to a neutral network (see main text for definition of mutational robustness). Each data point for Rμ is based on 40000 sequences obtained through the uniform sampling of one neutral set using the Nested Monte Carlo procedure. The inset shows only data for biological sequences with the same length of L = 50. The diagonal line was obtained by linear regression
