RSV does not alter G_i expression. Cultured HASM cells on each experimental day were infected with RSV (MOI 15), UV-inactivated RSV, or mock infection for 24 h, after which protein was harvested and G_i protein expression assayed by Western blot. The inset demonstrates the three isoforms of G_i detected by this antibody. In addition, the antibody detects a strong band corresponding to the 75-kD marker, which represents cross detection with albumin, present in the Biorad protein standard and in the cell lanes. A Western blot was performed on cell lysates from three donors.
