Peptidoglycan binding activity is not altered by prosegment removal. Recombinant unprocessed and processed RegIIIγ and HIP/PAP were compared in peptidoglycan pull-down assays. 20 μg of protein was added to 50 μg of peptidoglycan and pelleted.
