(a) Mice were treated on the abdomen with oxazalone and challenged 5 days later on one ear with the hapten and on the contralateral ear with solvent. Ear swelling was determined by measurements with a micrometer. Each experiment was performed with 4 or 5 mice per genotype, and data are means ± SE of two combined experiments. *P<0.05.
