WHPC reduces hypoxic lung injury. Exposure to hypoxia for 6 hours caused severe lung injury, as indicated by elevated levels of general injury markers, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) (A) and creatine kinase (CK) (B) in BAL. Pretreatment with WHPC effectively abolished the hypoxia-induced release of LDH, and significantly reduced that of CK in BAL.
