The N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor subunits are phosphorylated on serine and tyrosine residues. Depicted are the amino acid sequences of the cytoplasmic tails of rat NR1, NR2A, and NR2B subunits. The N-terminus faces the membrane, and the C terminus is facing inward.
