Representative hematoxylin and eosin stained paraffin-embedded brain sections at two coronal level (bregma +1.2 and −3.8 mm) from rats treated with vehicle and LAU-0901 (30, 60 and 90 mg/kg) at 7 days after MCAo. A well-demarcated infarct involving cortical and subcortical regions is present in rats treated with vehicle. Note smaller area of cortical and subcortical infarction in rats treated with 30 mg/kg of LAU-0901. In contrast, two rats treated with 60 and 90 mg/kg of LAU-0901 did not have infarction at these bregma levels (ZEISS microscope).
