A respondent was judged to have no hypertension if there was no self-reported hypertension in the current and previous cycles, there was no reported antihypertensive medication use within two days before the interview in the current and previous cycles and there was no reported use of antihypertensive medications or diuretics within 30 days before the interview in the current and previous cycles.
