Table 1.
The effect of PDGF-BB on the subcellular fractionation of PDGFβ receptors, ROCK, and NR1
Protein | Change in localization after PDGF-BB treatment
S2 | S3 | P3 | ||
PDFGβ receptor | n/a | 63 ± 15%a | 136 ± 31%
ROCK | 60 ± 12%a | 66 ± 30% | 125 ± 30%
NR1 | n/a | 81 ± 36% | 130 ± 30% |
Hippocampal slices were treated for 10 minutes with 10 ng/mL PDGF-BB, were homogenized, and S2, S3, and P3 fractions were prepared as described in the methods section. Equal amounts of total protein from each fraction were resolved on SDS gels, transferred to nitrocellulose membranes, and immunoblotted with anti- PDFGβ receptor (n = 4), anti-ROCK (n = 3), or anti-NR1 (n = 3) antibodies. Data represent the mean +/- standard error, a p < 0.05, Student's unpaired t-test.
