Infection of H441 cells with rRA2 decreases ENaC mRNA levels. H441 cells were infected with rRA2 at m.o.i. = 1. 3-6 days later cells were sorted according to green fluorescence levels and α, β, and γ ENaC as well as HPRT mRNAs were measured with real-time RT-PCR as described in “Materials and Methods”. Bars are the mean values ± S.E. of ENaC mRNA levels in non-inoculated (solid), GFP(-) (diagonal stripes), and GFP(+) (cross-hatched stripes) cells, calculated as described under “Materials and Methods.” ENaC mRNA values of each group were normalized by dividing their values by the corresponding values of the non-inoculated cells.
