Asbestos-treated mice showed marked pulmonary fibrosis 14 days after exposure to crocidolite asbestos. Treatment with 10 mg/kg/day imatinib mesylate diminished asbestos-induced airway thickening. Asbestos-treated mice with daily intraperitioneal injections of (a) vector or (b) 10 mg/kg/day imatinib mesylate.
