Wild-type mEF cells (A and D), Adam17−/− cells (B, E, G, and I), or Adam10−/− cells (C, F, H, and J) were transfected with TGF-α (A–C, G, and H) or BTC (D–F, I, and J) together with a dominant negative ADAM10 construct (AD10-DN; A–F), wt-ADAM10 (AD10; H and J), or wt-ADAM17 (AD17; G and I), or ADAM9E/A as a control (E/A; A–J), as indicated.
