Comparing the F-ROI with anatomic ROIs in hip fracture discrimination based on BMD measurements. Anatomic ROIs included the integral (intgl), cortical (cort) and trabecular (trab) compartments of the femoral neck (neck) and the trochanter (troc). The entire proximal femur (including femoral head, femoral neck and trochanter) was also evaluated. The AUC value and its standard error for each ROC curve is shown in the middle row. For each ROC curve, the specificity at the fixed sensitivity of 95% was calculated and compared with that of the F-ROI. A mark * indicates the difference was statistically significant.
