AICAR, 5′-aminoimidasole-4-carboxamide-1-β-d-ribofuranoside. Cells were incubated in the absence or presence of AICAR (0.5 mM) for 15 h, and protein was extracted for determination of citrate synthase activity. Values were corrected for microgram of protein per sample and were expressed as mean ± SEM. Data were compiled from two independent experiments, with a sample size of n = 8. Unpaired t-test was performed for statistical analysis.
